It was awesome!
Gen did a great job, she joined Scott Twoaij's band doing background vocals, and he introduced her to sing "Whosoever Will"
Scott gave her a great plug, saying that her songs are on CHRI here in Ottawa on regular rotation, she had been nominated for 3 Covenant Awards from GMA Canada, and he told everyone how her album had really ministered to him.
You know there really is something special and unique about her voice. She began to sing those first few lines and it's hard to describe what happens. Something spiritual happens, the air clears, there's a change, there's a distinction. I watched the back of heads all over their auditorium pop up to see where the sound was coming from. It's free, it's clear, it's love, it's peace, there's a lot spiritually that's being communicated in that moment.
Can you tell I'm her biggest fan?
Rick Reed when he began his message, thanked her for coming to sing, gave a great plug for her album, introduced me! and then talked about how our churches were partnering together with Bridges, and then said a bunch of nice stuff about me. It's hard not to like Rick after that! LOL!
This was the first big event that Lisa Chamberlain set up for Gen. She's come on Gen's music team as a booking and publicity agent. She's fully bilingual, very friendly, a natural networker, and almost as big of a fan of Gen's music as I am. Gen's CD has been in her car's CD player since May I think. Lisa is going to start working on setting up a tour for Gen in France in 2011 shortly, and is making connections for Gen with some more industry contacts. We are really happy to have her on board, and she did a great job here with the Met.
This is the best picture I could get from my iPhone. There weren't a lot of seats left at the 11am service!
